I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland (license #LC7605). I received my Bachelor’s Degree from New York University in Linguistics and Languages. I received my Master’s Degree from The University of the District of Columbia in Mental Health Counseling.
Areas of Practice
My job is to make myself obsolete! I help my clients figure out what’s going on, help them make the profound and sustainable changes they want to make, and teach them the tools to maintain those changes over time on their own. I have worked with an incredibly diverse array of clients over 9 years in the field, through individual, family, couples, and group counseling. I have helped clients address a variety of behavioral and emotional concerns including anger management, difficult life transitions, depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, addiction, trauma, grief, and loss.
My Promise to You
- I will sit with the pain, hurt, grief, loss, disappointment, sadness, worry, and myriad other emotions that you may bring into the therapy room without judging you. I will also not tell you to “just think positively!”
- I will help you to recognize the light that always slips through even in the darkest moments.
- I will see your inherent value and worthiness and create space for you to come in exactly as you are.
- I will help you wade through layers of confusion, anxiety, and fear.
- I will be fully present with you to provide support for you to face what you may have hidden, pushed away, or avoided for many years.
- I will thoroughly explain the strategies that we use, what their purpose is, what the potential benefits and risks are, and proceed only with your complete understanding and with you in the lead. No psychobabble!
- I will not presume to know more about you than you know about yourself.
- I will not give you advice, but rather ask excellent questions designed to help you dig out the answers from within yourself. When appropriate, I will also help you learn tools to find peace with not having all the answers.
